Preserve the Beauty of Silk

Every Trueself garment is crafted from 100% silk, individually hand dyed and finished with original hand-painted artwork.

Silk is a natural fibre that becomes even more beautiful with thoughtful care. By following a simple care ritual, you can preserve its softness, colour and fluidity for years to come.

Washing

To preserve the integrity of the silk and the hand-finished artwork, we recommend hand washing only.

Wash separately in cold water (maximum 30°C)

Use a gentle detergent formulated for silk

Do not soak for extended periods

Avoid rubbing or wringing the fabric

Rinse thoroughly with cold water

Drying

Treat silk gently after washing.

Never tumble dry

Gently press excess water with a clean towel

Hang or lay flat to dry naturally

Keep away from direct sunlight to preserve colour

Ironing & Steaming

Silk naturally relaxes beautifully with steam.

Steam whenever possible

If ironing, use the lowest silk setting

Iron on the reverse side only

Never iron directly over painted areas without a pressing cloth

Storage

Store your garments with care between wears.

Hang on a padded hanger whenever possible

For long-term storage, fold gently in breathable cotton bags

Avoid plastic garment covers

Keep away from direct sunlight and humidity

Fragrance & Beauty Products

To protect the natural fibres and hand-finished artwork:

Apply perfume before dressing

Allow lotions and oils to absorb completely

Avoid direct contact with hairspray or cosmetics

Travel

Silk is an ideal travel companion.

To keep your garment looking its best:

Fold gently rather than tightly rolling

Place tissue paper between folds if travelling

Hang and lightly steam after arrival to restore its natural drape
